UPDATE 3 WEEK 8 (14-17/5/2025)

UPDATE 3 WEEK 8 (14/5/2025) Scheduled an Interview Session

Today, our group initiated contact with the owner of Ruma Puteh Homestay via WhatsApp to schedule an interview session. After a brief discussion, we successfully arranged an interview and site visit on 16 May at 10:00 AM. The owner responded positively and was very cooperative, which made the process easier for us.

This session will help us gather valuable insights for our project, specifically understanding the management and marketing strategies of the homestay. We aim to relate our findings with the 4ps - Product, Price, Promotion and Place as a framework to analyse and evaluate their approach.

This direct interaction with the homestay owner is expected to provide firsthand information that will enhance the accuracy and depth of our project findings. We also hope to observe the homestay environment and facilities during the visit to support our analysis with real-life observations.

We are excited and grateful for the opportunity to conduct this interview. This experience helps us develop important soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and professionalism. We are looking forward to the upcoming session and are committed to giving our best for this project.

WEEK 8 (17/5/2025) Our Journey to Ruma.Puteh for the Interview Session

On our way to Ruma.Puteh, for the interview session, we faced several challenges that turned our journey into a truly memorable experience. What was supposed to be a smooth trip became quite an adventure after we got lost twice due to taking the wrong turns.

We relied on Google Maps to guide us to the homestay. Fatin, who was driving at the time, accidentally took the wrong turn, which led us all the way to UiTM Perlis. It was a bit stressful, but we stayed calm and tried our best to find the correct route.

Eventually, we managed to find the right junction and lane that led to the homestay. But just when we thought we had arrived, we mistakenly went to the wrong house. The actual house was located at the end of the lane, but we had already greeted the wrong house before realizing the mistake.

Despite the unexpected detours and confusion, the whole experience added a special memory to our journey and made it even more meaningful.

WEEK 8 (17/5/2025): Interview Session with the owner of Ruma. Puteh Homestay

We conducted an interview with the owner of our chosen homestay, Ruma.Puteh, Dr Shahril, who is also a lecturer at UniMAP. The interview took place during our side visit, where we had the opportunity to meet him in person and observe the homestay environment.

We presented a series of prepared questions, mainly focusing on the 4Ps in their business which is Product, Price, Place, and Promotion to gain insights into how these concepts are applied in the actual business setting. Dr Shahril was very friendly, professional, and eagerly welcomed us upon our arrival. His warm hospitality made the session feel comfortable and engaging.

He responded to each question with great enthusiasm and provided detailed insights, allowing us to better understand the business operations and marketing strategies implemented at his homestay.

The interview session went smoothly and we truly appreciated the cooperation and valuable information shared by the homestay owner.

His input was significantly enriched our project and allowed us to link theory with practical application.

In conclusion, this interview was not only informative but also inspiring. It gave us a real-world perspective on how the 4Ps are implemented in the tourism and hospitality industry. We are thankful for Dr.Shahril’s time and honesty
